This Dead show may have been posted on this board once before, but I've since lost the date. I'm pretty sure it's from around '78 or so, but I could be wrong. There's a second-set "Truckin'" where Jerry goes into an amazing solo to finish the song. It's about 45 seconds long, and the rest of the band stops playing their instruments to let Jerry solo by himself. If anyone knows the date of this amazing musical moment, please post it!
Also, if there are any other moments like this, where the band lets Jerry solo by himself, I would be so grateful for those dates, as well.

I hope I am not way off-base with this one, but is there any chance you are referring to the Binghampton show (Nov. 6, 1977)? 2nd set had a St. Stephen > drums > wild Wharf Rat > St. Stephen reprise > Truckin' with a Jery jam at the end unlike anything I have ever heard -- something from a different solar system. I hope I didn't mislead you, but if you are not familiar with the show then it may be worth your while to check out that part of the show.

There's a show like that from 7-14-81 where Jerry solos for about 45 seconds at the end of Truckin and then goes into eyes, that may be the one.

Other shows with Jerry soling by himself...1-22-78: the famous close encounters show, about 3 minutes of Jerry soloing.
Also 1-12-79, After Dancin in The Streets, Jerry goes into an 8 minute solo with a little help from Billy on the drums. It's Jerry doing his lightning quick Dancin solo.

Uncle,
I believe I do remember, and if I am correct, I believe congrats are due for your new addition to your family. I personally love the prophet from 5-8-80, very sweet and exquisitely played.
